You guys remember that epic snow storm we had in Charleston? Most of us were sitting on couches in front of roaring fires, or sledding down very small hills. Well, we were meeting with two amazing Residential Real Estate Agents that were not going to let a little snow stop them from getting an amazing Wordpress Website!
I met with Residential Real Estate team Kimberly Traynor and Julie Kinzie of Red Kite Coastal Homes at a bagel shop on James Island while the snow was still melting in the parking lot. The sudden change in weather was actually a perfect opportunity for these ladies; they wanted to rework their website quick, and the snow had pretty much frozen everything we were currently working on. We bit into our bagel, and bit into the opportunity to launch a wordpress website in just three days.
Julie and Kimberly were looking for a sleek, modern website where current clients could search for homes, and prospective/future clients could learn more about this dynamic duo. The biggest highlight: their site needed to have some kind of motion or pizzaz to stand apart from the competition.
We headed on over to our trusty shutterstock.com account, and within minutes we were checking out videos for their header. The header needed to exude the Charleston lifestyle, so we were focused on some of the main tourist locations. However, nothing screams Charleston homes quite like a beautiful view of the Battery! Red Kite Coastal Homes also had some incredible testimonials, so we really wanted to showcase all of their past clients. A random slider was incorporated so we could have both testimonial and client image represented on their homepage. Check out the slider, and their great testimonials, here!
We also incorporated a live MLS search into their website, using components from the local Charleston Trident Association of Realtors MLS search. This search is also mobile friendly, adding to the overall responsiveness of their site.
We got to work on that Saturday morning, building the site through our favorite WordPress theme, X theme, which provides an amazing back-end editor that the team could use later to update and make changes as they see fit. We love putting the controls back in our clients’ hands at the end of a project, and we’re always here as a helping hand should the occasion arise.
I met with the ladies via phone on Sunday, and we reviewed the site demo. A few tweaks were made, and the domain was pointed. The site went live less than 72 hours after we met! Check out the final result here!
